Within Walking Distance

Beautiful historic homes and churches line the streets of Kansas City’s old northeast. The Concourse Park has a new fountain installed (or still in progress) and that promises to become an attraction by itself.

Cliff Drive Scenic Byway is another beautiful area for walking, jogging, cycling or driving. It is a 4-mile non-residential drive winding along the cliffs above the industrial area and the Missouri River. Cliff Drive and the Concourse are both part of the extensive Kessler Park system devised for Kansas City during the late 1890’s. This system became the model for urban area parks around the world. Distance from the house is a few blocks.

The Kansas City Museum: located in the mansion of local lumberman R.A. Long. The house has been converted to a museum of history, technology, and science.
